Manoir d’Hérenguerville
Our stud is situated only 300 km from the Metropol Paris, in the beautiful ever-changing and a bit wild masterpiece Normandie. The magical rythem of the sea and the wind utterly transform the breathtaking bocage landscape and surrandings.
Just outside Granville, the home town of Christian Dior with it’s still very active harbour Port de Plaisance, as well as close too The UNESCO World Heritage Site Mont-Saint-Michel, we live together with our Arabian horses and Ridgeback dogs less than 3 km from the Atlantic cost with it’s breathtaking high and low tides and energetic sea.
Le Manoir d’Hèrenguerville is from 1812 and is actually the “new” manoir as the “old” manoir is from 1518. It was built by Captain Lefèvre. There is a lot of special moments that has taken place here and you can really feel the wings of history when entering down the long ally down to the main horse.
To mention a few, General Patton had his personal camp in one of our pastures and the story say that Captain Bernadotte was here on a dinner once. Captain Lefèver had been liberated from a military prisson in Alsace by Captain Bernadotte, so this dinner party was Captain Lefèver’s way of thanking Captain Bernadotte for his freedom. The same Captain Bernadotte who not long after this said dinner took place, became the king of Sweden.
Welcome to visit and enjoy our horses, Ridgeback kennel and beautiful Normandie by appointment.
Always the best,
Lars & Wilda WINCLAIR
